Jann McCardell

Jann, singer producer and vocal instructor, has worked with thousands of talented singer’s, songwriter’s, musicians, and performers over the past 30 years.  She attended Brigham Young University specializing in the Fine Arts Program with an MDT (Music Dance and Theatre) major.  Her extensive experience as a performer and an educator have uniquely qualified Jann as a very effective teacher.

 

Jann was a featured soloist with the BYU Young Ambassadors for over 2 years.  She has performed leading roles in Hello Dolly, Annie (as Grace and Hannigan), Chess, Sunday in the Park with George, Song and Dance, The King and I, Oklahoma, and Woman of the Year.  She was also the soloist for the LDS World Wide Woman’s Conference in 1984 in which she sang the original composition by Michael McLean, “You’re Not Alone”.  Jann has performed around the world including in the New Orleans World’s Fair, in the 60 day Jerash Festival in Jordan for King Hussein, in Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Yugoslavia, Hong Kong, Beijing, and various cities in Japan including Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nagoya.

 

From 1988-2004 Jann owned and directed On Stage Productions.  She specialized in vocal training, audition preparation, and artist development.  Jann has also directed and produced for Usana, Honda Corporation, Suzuka Circuit NASCAR, and the Novell Convention.

 

Jann’s students have participated in many notable performances and projects including a Tribute to Mohammed Ali, Close to Home, KSL and Helen Reddy Symphony Hall, Desert Storm USO Tour Merrill Osmond, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat with Donny Osmond at Kingsbury Hall, the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics, and The Forgotten Carols with Michael McLean, Working with Lemons, and the LDS Primary CD.

 

Jann was first introduced to the master of Speech Level Singing (SLS), Seth Riggs, in 1981 when she was 15 years old. She continued to work with Seth for many years and certified as an SLS vocal instructor in 2011.  Jann has also worked with Dean Kaelin, Greg Enriquez, Dave Stroud, Jeffrey Skouson and Wendy Parr.

 

Jann continues to work with many professional musical theatre performers, theme parks, and recording artists. Her students have gone on to pursue careers in the following:
